When God gave me the idea to start a business and name it Dynamic Destiny I asked, "Why the name Destiny?" Many people are familiar with the concept of Destiny and it is a word that is used quite frequently even among people who do not believe in God. For this reason, I was hesitant to use the name but I wanted to be obedient to the holy spirit. As I continued to seek God like never before the holy spirit started dealing with me in the area of NEW. One day after reading the Bible I looked at the word Destiny and it all made sense. The word DESTINY came alive, and I saw clearly where the Lord was directing me. I get chills just thinking about how God will reveal himself when you diligently seek him. I picked up a pen and wrote Determined Events Sent To Ignite a New You. This is the message that God wanted me to share with the world and I was so excited that it all made sense now! (This blog entry is lengthy but if you are serious about Following Christ please read in its entirety)
I will share the meaning of the Acronym for DESTINY in the manner that the holy spirit revealed it to me. Every Event in your life is a Determined Event. Events are sent to in the form of man and some are sent supernaturally. Supernaturally means that an Event can be Sent by our Heavenly Father or by the Principalities of Darkness (Please read Ephesians 6:12). Man can be used as a vessel to send events under direction of God or under Demonic Influence. Many times we automatically assume that every Bad Event that comes our way is God's fault. The truth of the matter is God wants us to prosper and he does NOT want to Harm us. Yes he does allow some things to happen (read book of Job), but in the book of Jeremiah Gods shares his heart for us. It says in Jeremiah 29:11, For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome. I don't know about you but that scripture does something to me everytime I read it. For so many years, I remained an OLD Kendra because I thought God was picking on me. I thought every bad thing that came my way was a result of God just taking his Divine Hands off of the situation. For this reason, I grew angry and bitter with my circumstances and with life in general. For some people who know me now this will be hard for you to believe because you now know the NEW Kendra, thank the Lord.
When life deals you a blow that causes hurt and pain it is natural to ask, "God why did you allow this to happen?" If not dealt with through the spirit of Jesus Christ Events in life can make you Worse instead of Better. I am well aware that Old can mean good in many instances, just like the beauty that lies in antiques. For this this reason, I am not saying that everything old is Bad. The NEW I am referring to in Destiny means Better than before; something Never Seen. In this concept, New does not lie in things, instead it lies in your Mind, Spirit, and Actions. Furthermore, I am not referring to the outward appearance of someone or something. Someone could be 100 years old and although their skin is wrinkle on the outside, their spirit is smooth and crisp like Christ on the inside. We have to start dealing with the root of undealt with issues that are causing us to be an Awful Witness for Christ. I can talk about it because I have been there done that. It is easy to be a Christian when everything is going your way and when blessings are showering down, but what are your actions when you are down to your last dime? How about your actions when someone calls you everything but a child of God? The bottom line is are you becoming a NEW (better) person or are you reverting back to the OLD self?
We ALLOW the enemy to take us on a downward spiral when events come our way that we do not understand. When you feel like you do not have hope or a future you will do things that disrespect yourself and others. One way we can unite together and send the enemy to the pitts of hell where he belongs is to IGNITE A NEW YOU in every situation that comes your way! If someone hurts you, instead of trying to get him/her back allow that situation to conform you into the image of Christ. By doing this you are fulfilling your God Given Destiny. It says in Romans 8:29 For those whom He foreknew (of whom He was aware and loved beforehand). He also destined from the beginning (foreordaining them) to be molded into the image of His Son (and share inwardly His Likeness) that He might become the firstborn among many brethren. This scripture is so awesome because it tells us what we should represent at all times; no matter what Event comes our way. We have to stop blending in with nonbelievers when Determined Events are Sent our way. If someone curses us out and we turn around and curse them out then how are we showing the Light of Christ? The TRUTH is unleashed when life starts smelling like rotten food instead of a bed of roses. That is when our Character is revealed. Conduct a Self Assessment today and evaluate when an event comes your way, "How do you respond to it?" Are you just Talking the Talk or are you Walking the Walk? For many years as a believer in Christ I blended in with the crowd because I was bitter with my circumstances (Events). I am so thankful for the NEW Testament and that Jesus Christ came to Redeem us and make us NEW in him. Ezekiel 36:26-27 A new heart will I give you and a new spirit will I put within you, and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you shall heed My ordinances and do them. This scripture is so Powerful! Many people are walking around with Stony hearts. If you love God with all of our heart, mind, and soul make sure YOUR ACTIONS and Thoughts reflect that.
If you are still operating in the OLD self then it is time for a Life Changing make over to fulfill the Dynamic Destiny God has for you. God already knew before you were born what your Destiny SHOULD BE. However, he gave us Free Will to see if we would choose to Walk In his Perfect Will for our lives. Start Stretching yourself in every area of your life and live filled with the fruit of the spirit. Do NOT allow Events that are sent your way push you out of the Will of God. You might say, "I know this and you are not telling me anything I do not know." Well if we know this, "Why don't our ACTIONS reflect it?" (This message is ministering to me and it can be painful, but pain sometimes comes before healing). I want you to examine today how you respond when situations do not go your way. Let's hold each other accountable to Shining a Light so Bright that Everyone will know it has to be the BLOOD OF JESUS. Do not settle for the Old you! We will never reach Perfection until we are with Jesus Christ, but we should all strive daily to reflect the Image of Christ in our Words, Thoughts, and Actions.
So the next time you think about your DESTINY, remember Determined Events Sent To Ignite a New You! Do not allow that event to get you off the Right Path. Instead use EVERY EVENT as an opportunity to Witness to others Gods ability make you NEW in the mist of a storm. Send a message to the enemy that his plots only make you a New (better) person and as long as you live in this Universe you will work hard to Conform to the Image of Christ.
