TURNING POINT TUESDAY: IS FEAR ROBBING YOU OF YOUR DESTINY? Discover the New Meaning of F.E.A.R.

Are you allowing something or someone to scare you out of fulfilling your Purpose?  At some point all of us can probably admit that we have been overcome by fear.  Fear can be so devastating that it paralyzes us from enjoying life, family, and friends.  We know that there are two kinds of Fear.  Fear of the Lord and the  "Spirit of fear."  Fear of the Lord shows God how much we respect and honor his authority and power, so we should all possess this fear.  This blog will discuss the "Spirit of fear."  I am convinced that the spirit of fear is the reason why so many people are living very lonely,depressing, and frustrating lives.  Can you think about the first time you felt afraid?  I remember the first time I experienced fear was after watching a scary movie as a little girl.  I knew my mom and dad did not want me watching scary movies, but while flipping through the channels I could not pass up the opportunity.  Even though I did not watch the entire movie, I watched enough to scare me silly.  I remember almost catching cramps in my neck from the constant looking over my shoulder as I walked down the dark hallway to my room.  I can laugh about it now, but it sure wasn't funny when it was time to go to sleep.  As I laid in bed every familiar object in my room started to look very unfamiliar!  Looking at the closet door just knowing a monster or Jason would jump out at any time.  The bottom line is we were not born with the spirit of fear.  As humans we are exposed to situations and people that impart fear into our lives.  2 Timothy 1:7 "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind."

Just think about that one thing you are so afraid of doing, that the mere thought of it causes heart palpitations. If you have ever taken a look at the Top 10 fears faced by people you will typically find Public Speaking, Snakes, Flying, Death, and Rejection on the list.  As an adult, what are you afraid of?  I am serious, take a moment right now to take an inventory of your Fears.  Write your Fears down on a piece of paper.  You might say well Kendra why is it important to do that? It is important because until you acknowledge your fears you will never be able to overcome them.  Too many people are sweeping their fears under the rug like they don't exist.  Sweeping stuff under the rug does not change the fact that the floor is still dirty.  Once you come to grips with what is causing fear, then you can come up with a plan to wipe the spirit of fear out of your life! I believe with all my heart that somebody is going to read this blog and start Living out their Hopes and Dreams.  Make up in your Mind Today to Stare Fear in the Face and tell it, "You have no Place in my Life so Get to Stepping and  NEVER show your Face again!"  If you want to get set free from Fear you have to get SICK and TIRED of being SICK and TIRED  of being AFRAID.  There is a new Career for someone right now, but you have to depend on God instead of yourself to see you through.  That new Career is a direct link to you fulfilling your Destiny.  I am not finished. Somebody is supposed to GO BACK TO SCHOOL.  Stop saying you are not smart enough and Smack Fear in the Face by researching and applying to the schools you would like to attend today!  Somebody else reading this blog is AFRAID to pursue your Dream.  You think that other people will think your Dream is stupid and you are afraid of rejection and failure.  Your Dream could become a reality if you stop worrying about others and start focusing on God's plan for your life.  Look at how many ideas were silly in the beginning, but guess which millionaires are laughing now?  Did you know that  LOVE defeats FEAR?  When love is completely operating in your life there is no room for fear. 1John 4:18 There is not fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment.  The one who fears is not made perfect in love.   Short story: Last summer when my son and cousin were playing in the backyard we saw a snake.  My heart skipped a beat when I first saw the snake.  The snake was within a couple of feet away from the kids.  My reaction turned from Fear to Love!  I told the kids to run and I then proceeded to cut the snake into three pieces with a saw.  I could hear the kids in the background cheering me on.  "Get that snake mommy, that snake won't bite us today!" If the kids were not out back and I saw the snake I probably would have screamed and ran in the house.  However, when you LOVE someone and his/her life is on the line you will stand Face to Face with Fear.  Well I am here to tell you that YOUR LIFE IS ON THE LINE AND IF YOU LOVE YOURSELF, IT IS TIME TO DEFEAT FEAR ONCE AND FOR ALL!   I do not want any of my fellow brothers and sisters to run away from their purpose because of fear.  My heart is so filled with emotion as I write because I know without a doubt that someone is getting SET FREE right now and I give ALL GLORY TO GOD! Isaiah 41:10.

My hopes are that we can hold each other accountable to live a life without the spirit of Fear.   We can speak Fear or any other unpleasant spirit into existence (Proverbs 18:21).  Please take a stand with me to stop saying any word that has the meaning of the spirit of Fear (afraid, worried, scared to name a few).  There will be times when we feel fear in our hearts and minds, because we are still in the flesh, but that doesn't mean we have to verbally say the word.  Start speaking Life into your situation.  I challenge you to start thinking about fear in a different way when you start to feel this emotion.  For example when you are get ready to take a test and you feel Fear rising in you, change the definition of Fear to FACING EVERY ASSIGNMENT READILY!  This means no matter what comes your way you are willing and ready for the challenge, because God has your back.  This acronym for FEAR is something that I use when it is time for me to do something out of my comfort zone.  I STARE FEAR IN THE FACE AND MAKE UP IN MY MIND TO Face Every Aassignment Readily and You can Too!  Now go back to that list that you wrote your fears on.  If you did not write your fears down, take the time to do it.  Look up Isaiah 41:10. Yes take the time to look it up and meditate on it.  Read this scripture several times until it sinks down into your soul.  This is a scripture I have stood on since I was a young girl and it gives me strength to push pass my feelings to Face Ever Assignment Readily.  After the scripture sets in take that piece of paper with your fears written on it and tear it up into little pieces.  Put it in the trash where it belongs, because it serves NO PURPOSE in your life.  Do not look back, push forward putting ALL your trust in the Lord.
